WebPhlebitis refers to the inflammation of a vein. In most cases, inflammation is caused by a blood clot, and is thereby called thrombophlebitis. Thrombophlebitis most often develops in the legs and can be categorized as either superficial thrombophlebitis or deep vein thrombosis (DVT).
