WebAug 17, 2016 · The solution-- and as I later discovered, Microsoft's officially recommended solution per their KB article-- was to install the Outlook for iPhone app and use it instead. It works well. Calendar items missing from the iPhone's Exchange calendar are present in the Outlook app's calendar, so clearly this is an Apple problem.
